Melodic’s new Parisian pick-up, Paume, debuts with four tracks of discofied indie-house sweetnuss. Aged 24, Paume presents a warm, uplifting sound that feels classic beyond his years on the ‘Transalpine’ EP, rolling out dusted house swing and detailed atmospheres on a title track comparable with Jamie xx or Gold Panda’s best, whilst Follies’ trails with a bluer sound gently urged by melancholy bassline and cosmic beach riffs. ‘Juno Beach’ follows that vibe at a slower gait with niftiest disco bassline pondering and radio friendly vocal, before the Satie-esque classical piano and layered field recordings of ‘Love-Fifteen’ secede to the slickest French house groove vocalled by Heidi.
