Having struck up a relationship with Greco-Roman after remixing Valentina’s 2013 single “Wolves”, Strasbourg-based outfit The Svens present their debut single for the Joe Goddard-helmed imprint. “Odeon” is breezy, vibrant and ear catching, delivering the kind of retro-futurist classic house-meets-UKG slammer that’s in vogue right now. Among the most startling spoken vocal that doffs a rather large cap to Raze’s ’80s house classic “Break 4 Love” (this vocal, almost identikit to the original, ushers “bass for love” instead). Canadian producer Hrdvsion provides the obligatory remix, adding a little more old skool swing thanks to some vintage house breaks and even greater, glassy-eyed breakdowns.
