Includes Cult Music sticker** Transcendent electronic soul killers from Forever Forever and Prayer on Zomby’s Cult Music – the follow-up to his reissue of ‘Where Were U In ’92’. For all intents and purposes these are exceptional debut productions from unknown artists, but you’d be forgiven for being suspicious about their provenance – as we’ve all come to learn, there’s always going to be a lot of enigma attached to anything Zomby-related. Prayer’s A-side is a heart-melting mix of hybrid trap templates anchoring soaring synth pads; a proper, tormented piece of modern UK soul that lodges in there and doesn’t let go. B-side is also distinctly UK-tempered, from its woozy pastoral synth lead down to the sweet but gritty garage pressure and eyes-shut R&B vocal lick. Don’t resist.
