After just one low-key remix a couple of years ago, Embrionyc introduces his alter ego with a fullength album and 80 CD-filling minutes of glossy five-star-quality techno. Sturdy beats in the mid-bpm range, reverb and kick, grinding basslines and layered fuzz and distortion are the main ingredients. A hypnotic album with all 10 tracks being chips off the same block, plus two remixes taking the same line. This album is so tight-knit it’s impossible to point out single tracks, they work perfectly as a whole, and every single one is also muscular enough to rule the techno peak time. Take the title track with its break of all breaks, it’ll drive the punters mad. “Heavens Gate” actually surprises with a sulky melody and subdued vocals, both elements are substituted with an evil acid line in the Hidden Rooms remix (and you of course know this is another alias of Maurice Pinkster himself). “The only Truth” in its remix by Eclipse is the most headstrong piece among the dozen, with almost abstract shuffle beats, which even adds to the mesmerizing quality of this album. In a nutshell, this is a total recommendation for any fan of darker, slightly industrial-flavoured techno, suited for both home-listening and use in the club.
