Icelandic techno producer Exos drops a nasty techno track for Do Not Sleep. Splintered percussion and hard as nails beats support alarm bell chimes and mad filters. It’s an intense, relentless affair, and it doesn’t get any less mellow when the remixers get their hands on it. DJ Rush delivers two versions – the first take is, as one would expect, pacey, banging and littered with insane vocal samples that belie his ghetto past. The ‘bonus beat’ version sees him add a menacing junglist bassline, an element that also forms the basis of Kid Mistik’s version. However, on that occasion, the groove is slower, more teased out – but the drums are heavier and pounding than any other version.
