Volunteer has thrown us to perfection. The sound is warmer than these human beings dying and annihilated in their empty homes of inaudible white noise. Organic atmospheres are ready to get rid of the days, the shadows and this rare way of life set to sink into oblivion like music covered by a soft camera cloth.

In Edges and Vertices, the reality and the vibrant sound of the technique is truer, purer more honest than the inertia of the acts that involved the citizens resigned to their lonely helplessness. Soft distortion, several kinds of arrhythmia and harmonic chaos… all these little nail-biting and dark details could save a whole life. Volunteer’s sound is something like a not-to-broadcast Revolution. His sound is the one of the quietest streets,, the one of desert urban scenes like the real life. Too much simulation and too much fakes waiting to be buried deep. The lack of words in the roaring machines are anything but the need of a primitive and collective cry. A private desire of being far away, in a place where life is not a luxury but a great route through explosive feelings.

While Volunteer is pulling our hair out with its epidermic and mechanic sensation, a little part of us will remain intact, safeguarded in a little nook of a safe deposit room made of aluminum. Welcome to a distorted landscape in a century that is committed to squeeze our throats and censor our feelings. Welcome to sounds that wish to rebuild our way of life. Welcome to The Shortcut between music and soul, that is to say everything that electrified Schopenhauer.

Let me introduce you the new adept artist and his work: Volunteer. In Edges and Vertices we make a trip across the echo sound and sonic textures. Listen carefully to the tracks, paying attention to the details. Naming of the tracks after triangle geometry elements is the inspiration of graphic work of the tenth release at adeptlabel. Volunteer himself talks about it: “I think it is good representation of a solid reduction to what I would call ‘essence’ of that project”.

As always the sound has been mastered by llamaza. Too much lows and too much highs has been the philosophy in this work. Enjoy the music.

ANT049 – Somewhere in Berlin – Alberto Pascual & Luigi Madonna Markantonios Analytictrail imprint drops, Somewhere In Berlin this July, from Luigi Madonna & Alberto Pascual, comprising four original tracks. Italian, Luigi Madonna & Spaniard, Alberto Pascual are a well-respected duo on the underground circuit who between them can boast releases for the likes of Drumcode, !Organism, Plus8 and Material. Here the pair return to Napolis Analytictrail imprint, one of the driving forces in the Italian Techno with releases dating back to 2001. Title track Somewhere In Berlin opens the release here, a moody, brooding Techno cut employing earth shattering drums, raw distorted bass hooks, heavily reverberated, off-kilter synth stabs and hypnotic low-end tones. Up next is Gruv, embracing a similar aesthetic but tipping the focus towards a straight drum-driven cut, while bulbous sub hits and swirling atmospherics add depth the background. On the latter half of the release things kick off with Globo, the duo takes things deeper here, opting for sparse, low-slung drums and a classic dub chord, these elements run for the duration of the record with subtle nuances in the groove keeping things in an ever-evolving state of play. Closer 155 follows in the same ilk but Madonna and Pascual focus on the melodics this time as a variety of stabs, pads and sweeps play off one another in harmony to create a tripped out peak-time number. Hello everybody, i´s that time again: writing a release text for my own record. As much as it´s fun to read a personal text, it´s a pain for me to write or say something about myself. Especially having to talk about my music or style always seems awkward. So one thing is for sure: i am not going to explain my “style”, tag my music it with some kind of genre or give an idea or explanation of my music at all! If you want to get an idea, listen to the Tracks. Now. Since I won’t be talking about music, I thought I´d give you a brief idea of what inspired this record “Thinkers EP”. I started reading about metaphysics, which is a field in between physics and philosophy. Metaphysics looks at the things behind (“meta”) the physical appearance and its relationship to the non-physical appearance. It asks questions about existence, objects and beings and their properties. Its about time and space, cause and effect as well as possibility. Especially reading about Plato who started to implemented and respect the physical world in philosophy and many centuries later John Locke inspired me to write these two tracks.
