After last year’s brooding 7″, Regis and Silent Servant return to Minimal Wave with their Sandra Electronics project and to be honest, we couldn’t be more excited. Hearing what these two techno leviathans are up to in their more industrial modes is both a privilege and a pleasure to the ear-drums. Exploring the genre-less corners of coldwave and post-punk, this six-track EP is probably one if this year’s hottest releases so far. From the crisp, metallic drum twists of “It Slipped Her Mind” to the almost Middle-Eastern sounds of “Protection Now!”, and the noisy, Gristle-like bounce of “Publicity (demo)”, it’s a total winner in our books. You also get a live version of “Want Need”, where the duo culminate into total insanity and tie things off in fine style. Are these two going to concentrate on this kind of stuff form now one? We hope so, this is it. Highly recommended.

South African rap duo Die Antwoord have revealed plans for a new album, Donker Mag, which they will release on June 3rd via Zef Records. Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er’s third studio album and follow-up to 2012′s Ten$ion, Donker Mag features their 2013 single “Cookie Thumper”, along with some of the most Die Antwoord-sounding song titles yet, like “Girl I Want 2 Eat U”, “Raging Zef Boner”, and “Rat Trap 666″.

Also included on the tracklist is “Pitbull Terrier”, which serves as our second preview of the forthcoming album. Like most songs from their catalog, it’s a blitzing track with pummeling blasts of electronics and abrasively hyper hooks. They’ve paired the track with an absolutely gross and gory music video. Directed by Ninja, the visual finds the 39-year-old emcee donning disgusting pitbull makeup and mauling innocent bystanders (one looks remarkably like Pitbull, the pop singer). Gondeln, also known as the German painter Albert Oehlen and longtime Red Crayola member, recently laid out the aspects of Fracking in his studio in Düsseldorf.

Realising that one thing was missing, he asked Wolfgang Voigt to provide him with two plain Gabber bass drum canvases. Wendy, a great connaisseur of this ancient form of techno, considered the offerings from the unheralded prince of the German bass drum so precious that he drove to Cologne to pick them up personally. He managed to take the delights home safely, painted over them with his bow as if it was a brush and thus completed his vision of Fracking.

Wolfgang on the other hand, couldn’t stop Fracking after Wendy’s visit, which resulted not only in his first Fracking track, but in his first three. Included here in the form of a Fracking triptych.

When Magazine (Jens-Uwe Beyer, Crato, Barnt) heard of this new thing called Fracking, they had to start Fracking too. Of course. Not long before this text was written, these Frackings were brought back to Düsseldorf and tested towards the end of a frenzied set at the Salon Des Amateurs. And guess what people started as soon as the bow hit the violin…
… right: FRACKING!
