The second remix record of Monoton’s work follows a more abrasive path than the first installment. For starters, there’s US producer James Donadio’s bruising, drum-heavy version of “Root Of 1_1” under his Prostitutes guise. The tempo slows down but the same kind of rickety, industrial tension remains as L.I.E.S boss Ron Morelli and Svengalisghost get to ride roughshod over “Soundtrack Dubpitch”. Finally, there’s Modern Love duo Rainer Veil with their version of “Whereami”. By now there is no discernible groove, just a tortured howl on repeat from amid a sea of white noise and layered distortion.
