Following on releases from Volte Face, In Aeternam Vale and Rrose, Khemia taps two more uncompromising producers for its latest edition. The brilliantly named I Hate Models delivers “Cyanure Dance”, a thumping, pounding rhythm, underpinned by cold frequency tones, haunted vocals and glitchy bursts. Despite this combination, “Dance” is imbued with a twitchy sense of funk. Meanwhile, Vittorio Di Mango opts for a more abrasive approach on “Epilessia”. The tempo is faster, percussion crashes in like a dominatrix’s whip and detuned riffs grate and scrape their way over the arrangement. Underpinning these elements is a rolling, lopsided rhythm that has an undeniably groovy feel.
