Following last year’s Manx release, Chontane drops the third instalment on his TANE imprint. With a focus on sweeping musical chords and rolling rhythms, Set A Dot is an epic affair. “Magallanes” resounds to tranced out melodies that swirl over pummelling drums and reverberating claps. Punctuated by dramatic drops and builds, it makes for a majestic track. “Cycle Break” follows in a similar vein, with a focus on soaring melodic twists and a nagging, acid-soaked groove. “Turn the Tables” is more stripped back and resounds to dubby drums, but it’s only a temporary divergence – and the title track combines a spaced-out aesthetic with a driving rhythm.
