With the Tour De Traum IX we open another exciting chapter of music on Traum with tracks by new artist we selected over the last 6 months and tracks by artists already on our label. We are happy that so many artists trust us that we will select music which is ruled by musicality and a free spirit. You will find very cool modern electronic listening music again, but this time there are lot more deeper electronic cuts than on the predecessors included. All was compiled by Riley Reinhold who also contributed the two continuous DJ mixes in a workshop fashion. German producer Stephan Funkmann opens up the 9th Tour De Traum with his amazingtrack “Kaisermantel”, a track that sparkles with a composition of sounds, where melodies are thrown up in the air like of water fountains. Madrem picks up the vibe, more stream like with his track “Inner Affection” establishing a tidal motion he skillfully works within this restriction with perfection. Kohra & SHFT quickly enlarge the composition to a wider range of melodies and sounds in a breathtaking complex composition, still to be contained by an inner peacefulness that provides a lot of strength to the track. Hansgod release on the Tour De Traum VIII and reestablishes his profile as a top upcoming artist. The track leaves us in the dark for a long time before it unfolds a meditative beauty which reminds us of some of the best ethnic spiced up British techno from the north of England… which has had a great influence on the people behind Traum. Nick Dows track “Before The Feast” taken from his “Armour Plated EP” follows and his ghostlike melodies wander in our heads ever since he released the track with us. Luka Sambes track “Locus” has a heavenly feel to it. It is very much a gloomy and winterized track which is put into motion by mighty dub baselines. Bodega makes wide strides with his track “Bubak”, all proud and ready for the big leap. A mighty mover in the right moment! Peets “Father & Son” in the Microtrauma remix is a track we have been playing on dance floors up and down the River Rhein and it has never failed to rock the crowds in a big way… so it had to be included on the Tour De Traum IX. Cosmic Cowboys “Symphony Of My Life” is just as the title conveys a a superb symphony of a sweet tune that could very well make hundreds of clubbers happy and humming along. But be aware behind all that sweetness stands a football field big baseline! Parra For Cuvas “Elara” has won the hearts of many already so we had to include it here as well! Paul Bart has already contributed to the Tour De Traum VIII so we are happy he had another fine tune for us. It does not take long before the drums are perfectly absorbed in a track that combines the repetition of the arpegiator and written melodies in a gripping way. Scottish duo Ariose have also released on Tour De Traum VIII before and have remixed Nick Dow for Traum so we were expecting nothing less but greatness. Their track “Flood” always makes it into the private jukebox at Traum. The manifold of sounds such as intermediate micro sounds to lead sounds and heavy baselines and details make it a stand out track. “Kleines Mausohr” stems from Dominik Eulbergs last EP and you can just feel how different it is from so much music around when it pours out its melodies. Arno Motzs track “Verandering” starts unlike you would imagine it to with distorted drums and surreal sounds. And despite the hating melodies which then come in, it makes even bigger changes towards a friendly acoustic piano melody. The changes here are quite remarkable and it all makes sense!

Ron Flatter – Desert

Artist: Ron Flatter
Title Of Album: Desert
Year Of Release: 2014
Label: Traum
Genre: Deep/Tech House
Quality: MP3
Bitrate: 320 kbps
Total Time: 00:53:54
Total Size: 113 mb

Tracklist:
1. Desert (Original Mix)8:49
2. Stupid World (Original Mix)7:14
3. Desert (Cosmic Cowboys “Mirage” Mix)6:59
4. Desert (Microtrauma Remix)6:13
5. Desert (Reinier Zonneveld Remix)10:46
6. Desert (Van Bonn Remix)7:05
7. Desert (Kohra Remix)6:42

Ron Flatters previous Traum release the phenomenal “Mantequilla” ended up as an evergreen with many DJs. Ron has been under the radar for some time writing music and eventually came up with these two new originals, both sensual and melodic and he was excited to play them to us.Real played music with lots of passion not so much deconstructed or manipulated but directly delivered these two tracks have been rocking the DJs sets from Ron now for some time! For all of you who don’t know him, Ron is a DJ icon in the east of Germany for now over 10 years playing all mayor festivals and clubs there. So now back to the music. The opening track “Desert” for us evokes comical sad moments of early Moby blended with techno beat dynamics to create a small hymn. There are some goose skin moments when the vocal hits in and you say to yourself: “this is perfect place to stay and remain for ever”. “Stupid World” is in a way the flip side of the coin. It is not what you would expect after listening to “Desert”, but it does connect. “Stupid World” has a stunning simplicity and lightness exercised to the point with a played piano melody and superb timed breaks that will put a smile on your face and lead you through the night. These tracks are rare to get these days so take a listen! Cosmic Cowboys “Mirage” remix of “Desert” begins with a monster of a grinding baseline mixed to the max teaming up with orchestral sounds in the background that seem to rise and fall, building up a cluster of sounds that come close to the best moments in Krautrock! Microtrauma have remixed “Desert” with a nice tripped out techno feel emphasizing those moments in between with refines and skill. The duo has been back with some mesmerizing music and this is part of it. Reinier Zonneveld impressed us so much with his tracks on Tour De Traum that we asked him to interpretate the original in his real-time-played fashion, that is so unpredictable and that has these incredible changes after the breaks introducing a new theme. This is another great one from him. Van Bonn has remixed “Desert” with his amazing dub techno feel. All is stripped down here and occasional spurts of sounds appear like comets that will vanish soon after they appeared. This is romance through repetition and a lot of anticipation of how sounds work. Indian producer Kohra has interpreted the remix with a lot of understatement though keeping the pop edge of “Desert” but adding some nice liquidity & lightness to it making it an after hour burner

12. Everybody Dance Now 6:11
13. Euphoria 3:19
14. Diamond Days 9:35
15. Sinus 5:04

After releasing his amazing debut “Diamond Days” on Traum and the follow up “Nothingness EP” Egokind told us he had the idea for an album already sitting in the back of his head.
To be able to convert all of his ideas he asked his long time friend and collaborator Ozean to work with him.
The album shows that Egokind and Ozean both draw ideas from multiple genres resulting in eccentric club tracks, interludes which are based on improvisation and composition and mesmerizing downbeat trax.
Nevertheless Egokind & Ozean’s long player feels personal rather than patchwork and a lot is due to their individual approach of not paying attention to establishing formulas but to develop their own.
The whole album does not feature one synth sound instead all is recorded and transformed using: Guitar, Rhodes, Piano and manipulated voice.

Egokind and Ozean are trained musicians who play in bands and study at the school of arts in Berlin. The idea for the album was to come up with a composition which is harmonic and can be played also on the piano itself.
Although both of them like melancholic and dark music as they state it was their intention to create a “friendly album” which is capable of embracing the listener and the clubber.
For their album they both say Terry Riley was one big influence.
Egokind and Ozean have been working together for years, but have not released much as a duo. One of their first tracks produced together (“Sinus”) was released on Traum in February 2014 , you can find the track as one of the two bonus tracks on this album.

The Berlin based duo keeps a low profile, reflective of both their refusal to attach themselves to any linear narrative of what it means to be an artist in the digital age and a vast talent for creating their own language and sound design.
With their music Egokind & Ozean show a new generation of listeners and clubbers how to embody music without having to know the rules. In a way they give you permission to discover music.
The album starts with “Mega” a track which illustrates their approach to touch many grounds resulting in something gigantic. The track itself begins rather acoustic inviting you to the private world of Egokind & Ozean, before it becomes a joyous balearic tune that despite its wealth keeps slight dissonances coming and going. …More

It is time for another release from our favorite Scottish artist Nick Dow. He has attracted remixes from the Traum family for his new release. We are happy to have Microtrauma back on board as well as French duo We Need Cracks. The other four artists are contributors on the Tour De Traum series and have all thrown their talent onto the originals. The originals, yes they are a bit more moody compared to the energetic last release. Nick lets the melodies swell and slumber a light thunder stroking his trax. And Yes… we like that attitude… while having to fight with 30 degrees here in the Traum office. That applies to “Pocket Harmony”, a track that draws on synths similar to “Insect Parade” but its overall feel is much more soothing, heart warming and keeps the fire burning for us. Is there a cat miaowing? A soulful track by Nick Dow! The title “Time To Dry” definitely correlates with its music showing weightiness but also moments of lightness, interacting with each other in a nice way. In the end this makes it a great mystic track with a super folkloristic edge to it. “Leap” is the most electronic downbeat track of Nick Dow so far and a nice grinding melancholic tune, with wailing and crawling synth sounds and heavy baselines. This one is for all of you who like the early Aphex Twin sound! Wonderful! Microtrauma have remixed “The Insect Parade” in a great way. The remix begins with blurred, dubbed out angel like sounds and then breaks down. What happens then can only be described as a second current of electricity joining the previous one. Turning the track upside down inserting the original synth sound but keeping it rather atmospheric and choosing other sounds as leading ones. All this is quite unbelievable and sounds as if it could never work… but it does. This is a great epos of music and we are happy to have them back. French duo We Need Cracks who have just recently released a fabulous release with Traum, have twisted “The Insect Parade” and have clad it in a glitter disco jacket fused with their own means of melancholy. Sounds great… is great. “Before The Feast” was remixed by Scottish soul mates Ariose who keep a nice understatement embroidered with an acoustic clattering, angel voices and a heavy grinding baseline. Hubert Kirchner has remixed the super dynamic peak time track “Armour Plated” into a deep sonic and spheric rocker using superb acoustics in the mix. This will sound great on a big PA for sure. Soulspace remix of “Armour Plated” holds the great aura of early Playhouse releases, which we always liked here at Traum. So we are great fans of this deep house interpretation! Macajey has remixed “Before The Feast” into a 119 BPM super day time crawler. A great lush feeling, so funky and gentle it melts in your ears. An enchanting remix from Tour De Traum participant Macajey.

The French duo We Need Cracks have been a bit of a surprise coming out of the blue and releasing a brilliant debut on Traum with their “Geometryka” EP in December 2013.Their new piece of music “The Windrose EP” is a superb follow up which we hope will take you by storm as much as it did us.”Joran” the opening track acts like a shiny liquid elixir that has that heavenly glow to it. Which in fact spreads wider with each musical element added, becoming a significant “sea of sounds” with a slow motion feeling that still keeps the simplicity We Need Cracks are so good at. “Joran” is a truly enchanted melodic piece of music with a timeless beauty to it.”Auster” starts more house but quickly unfolds it’s beauty and connects perfectly to “Joran” featuring captivating small sequences that seem to glide down from the sky, all made of thin ivory and gold. Resting, spinning like a leaf in the wind, these melodies quickly cast a spell over us. Track 3 “Aquilons” starts like a classic deep house track but then jumps head over heels into the melodic genre, exposing these spine-tingling midget melodies that work here as a catalyst for broader string arrangements… this is another fabulous track by We Need Cracks and it is an anthem for the special and deeper moments we think!”Cers” is a birdcage full of music and certainly bird sounds. A track with a 4 minute (!) long melodic “happy/sad” intro that washes down all grey realism in a split second and which could be a sound track for a French movie as well. A fabulous open air track that transport nature where ever you might be dancing!

Nick Dow is the newest discovery on Traum. We have been in touch with the Scotsman for some time, but it was not until recent that Nick was able to finish 5 brand new tracks for us.
Nick’s perception of music incorporates listening as well as challenging modern club music and by this ends up traveling very much in the same cosmos as we do with artist such as Dominik Eulberg, Max Cooper, Microtrauma, Minilogue and many more.
The young producer has already spent time in New York and Berlin and you will see how this affected his work.
