If you assumed that Weisemann belonged to the legion of cookie-cutter deep house producers from Germany, you’d be mistaken. On “Elution”, he delivers a dreamy, but individualistic take on modern house. Gentle, lullaby-like keys unfold over stripped back, low tempo beats. The whole thing has an ethereal feeling, floating in the air instead of plodding along. Meanwhile, FDF’s Espale remix plows a different route; more pared back and driving, its dubby beats and plaintive chords sound like they were inspired by Chain Reaction. But despite containing this extra dubby layer, this version also manages to retain the original’s understated approach
