It’s been a fair while since Radioslave’s Matt Edwards teamed up with Joel Martin for some excursions to the Quiet Village so kudos to the Phonica crew for coaxing these two cuts out of the pair for their Phonica White series. It’s a case of two halves here with lead track “Social Music” a deep, hypnotic groover whose 9 minutes plus wouldn’t sound out of place a few hours into a session with Riccy Villalobos. On the flip Edwards and Martin evoke a different kind of psychedelia with the drum heavy druggy chugger “Change” with all manner of expert reverb applied.
