Known mostly for his work as MGUN on Berceuse Heroique, TTT, Don’t Be Afraid, Third Ear and more, the supremely gifted Manuel Gonzales adds Wicked Bass to his collar here, gracing the Ukranian label with a triplet of bugged out techno from the D. MGUN fans are quite literally spoilt for choice here; those that like it raw and sludgy will gravitate towards the lead track “Mono Port” which wedges a sense of funk deep beneath all manner of sonic muck. “Frosted Lake” finds Gonzales using the minimum of elements with optimum results – the manner in which the bassline veers all around the channels is superb – whilst B Side hogger “Chip Implemented” is the producer going full throttle down a wormhole you’ll be only too willing to follow.
