Counter Pulse delivers hard but high-quality techno from some upcoming artists. Pjotr & Dubiosity’s “Diutisk” sees the duo fuse a pulsing groove and heavy bleeps with rock hard, distorted kicks. The Dimi Angelis & Jeroen Search remix opts for a radically different approach, with a stripped back rhythm as its centre piece, recalling Robert Hood at his most visceral. Patrick Krieger also bangs the box effectively on “Access”, but in this instance the groove is percussive and dense and the accompanying textures close to impenetrable. Donor brings a heavier rhythm to bear on his version of “Access”, while the Dynamo remix of “Diutisk” rounds off the release with over the top acid lines and slamming drums.
