In November 2010, we released Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s “Rebellion der Traumer” – a timeless album with a major impact on both the artists and on us, the label. It was a big success in every direction and even now after 10 years, the album still is a milestone. Reason enough for us to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the two German northener’s debut album both with a long awaited repress of the double vinyl, as well as a fresh round of remixes.
You can expect 9 new remixes which will be released in three different parts over the course of several weeks.
Part two of “Rebellion der Traumer X – The 10th Anniversary Remixes” kicks off with Leipzig-based Map.ache. The KANN Records co-owner and one half of Manamana, who just dropped his second album on Giegling with “What does that mean”, has delivered a super trippy electro interpretation of “Addio Addio”, which you could easily imagine in a DJ-set by Ricardo Villalobos.
Alps 2 are a Manchester based outfit whose fans we have been since we discovered their first release “Arron’s here” in 2019. Reviewing the past, “Schwindelig” was probably the most successful title from the original album, so picking it was a great choice. Their interpretation definitely is one of the highlights of all remixes, a super cleverly arranged breaks tune, rich in details and with a monstrous bassline.
The third remix of this package couldn’t be any better, either. Over the past years, Valencia-based Pepe has developed a stunning style somewhere between several varieties of breaks-infused music and lo-fi house. With releases on Lobster Theremin for example, and upcoming output on DJ Seinfeld’s Young Ethnics, Kompakt and a fourth DJ Kicks appearance already, he is one of the big talents of now for us. His remix for “Sphare” will surely form another miles stone in his repertoire. Breaks which transform into Drum & Bass, embedded in a more than sophisticated arrangement with a goosebumps guarantee.
