This eighth release from fast-rising Madrid imprint Riverette is notable for boasting a debut appearance from DOS Attack, the recording alias of label head honchos Carlos and Andres. “Flue” is a deliciously odd and out-there concoction, sounding like a wildly lo-fi, yet also deliciously spacious, hybrid of original Motor City techno attitude, Pepe Bradock style deep house oddness, and the analogue-rich output of Barcelona’s Hivern Discs. Of course, most attention will focus on Legwelt’s virtual A-side “Alien Abduction”, a track that’s less intense and throbbing than his usual outfit. By the eccentric Dutchman’s standards, it’s also rather funky, sounding like his take on vintage Daft Punk with a typically quirky twist.
