Scissor & Thread founders Frank & Tony – AKA Brooklyn-based deep house experimentalists Francis Harris and Anthony Collins – returns with their third single of 2016. Intriguingly, this two-tracker boasts one original production, and the duo’s re-edit of John Beltran’s “Guitarus Breeze”. The latter is particularly special, with the twosome weaving Beltran’s ambient-minded instrumentation – think drifting harmonica lines, tumbling horns, plucked harp notes and enveloping chord progressions – around a dense, Latin-influenced deep house rhythm track. There’s more of a low-down, late night feels about lead cut “Harmonium”, where snappy drum machine handclaps, sturdy kick-drums and rich dub bass are smothered in hazy, outer-space chords.
