Brooklyn based artist Andrew Fox aka Visuals follows up a breakthrough release on Nicolas Jaar’s Other People imprint for this fresh one on Berlin’s thesongsays. This is the kind of pop-inflected electronics that calls to mind Junior Boys, Fox’s vocal delivery being uncannily reminiscent of Jeremy Greenspan. But the great music on The State Of Things is definitely left his own mark such as on the title track, the dark afterhours minimal of “Days Of Our Youth (Tinsel Mix)” and the dreamy “No Handle” which is made for Sunday morning coming down and drifting far, far away.
