Every time that Planet Mu come up with a new EP by a new artist, our ears instantly prick up with interest and joy, and a warm rush of euphoria hits our spines. Yes, intense but true! This time, they have called upon the mysterious Sami Baha – the young’un has appeared on a Fact Mix by MESH back in 2014, but this is his first official release under his name. There are six tracks of outsider electronica on here, starting with the soft beats and mounds of echo on “mavericks One”, a placid sound that develops subtly onto “Still”, and then the moody IDM of “Dough”. “Chunk” is perhaps our favourite cut on here, though, its glitchy drums reminding us of Autechre at their best. Solid.
