Planet Mu label head Mike Paradinas collates two otherworldly, previously vinyl only EPs from his long-standing Mu-ziq alias for a beautiful combined CD / digital release. Stripped from the 2013 XTLP EP, dewy-eyed melodies feature on ‘XT’ and ‘Ritm’ which both seep with a sense of nostalgia, especially on the later with its sentimental piano riff; whereas the glossy, italo-disco arpeggios on ‘Pulsar’ and highly textured, fretting IDM styles of ‘Monj2’ demonstrate Paradinas’ versatility. Covering territory from the 2014 Rediffusion EP is the gleaming, breakbeat piece ‘Taxi Sadness’ which glows with wistful harmonies followed by the electro-operatic anthem ‘Rimmy’, not forgetting the previous unreleased piece ‘Forger’ – an essential for Planet Mu die-hards.
