Bass music really has spread far and wide; morphing into all kinds of variants depending on which corner of the world you’re currently in. Here New Zealand’s’ Lowquid rustles up three examples of his take on it: a hip-hop influence presides over both the title track and “Okubo Freeze” (the former fusing machine gun snares and creepy chimes, the latter featuring slower, sub aquatic beats). Final track “Orcs” ventures more into eerie, subby, chillstep territory.
