The Muti Music label prefer to deal in sounds, rather than specific genres. Since 2002, the imprint has given us a whole selection of timeless electronic escapades that have delved into Balearic, bass, house, industrial, and sounds not capable of being contained under one phrasing. Andreilien has been an important presence for them over the last few years, and the producer is back with his third LP for the label, the aptly named Algorithm. This isn’t really half-step, but it’s not quite digital dub either, it’s just something in between; a dark, mechanical construction of beats and murky electronic sonics. It most certainly is a breath of fresh air, however, and it will likely appeal to any bass-head who finds themselves bored by the current direction of dubstep, and other affiliated genres. Exploration and experimentation are the keywords, here!
