Woolfy vs Projections present the final chapter of their trilogy: following 2008’s The Astral Projections of Starlight and 2012’s The Return of Love, the LA duo return to Munich label Permanent Vacation for their third album. Stations also marks the end of Captain Starlight’s story, the lost astronaut the series of albums revolved around. His character is based on Frank Zander’s eponymous cosmic classic, and the reference becomes clear in the downtempo disco beats of ‘Set It Up’ or ‘Tangiers’, their love for the 80s genre is further displayed in their excellent cover of the Odyssey’s 1974 hymn ‘Who’. Stations is balearic at heart, filled with sentimental folk pop chorusses, and still sounds very now.
