Norwegian legend Rune Lindbaek inaugurates his new Norsk Tripping imprint with a fine 12″ of the same name, featuring five killer Scandolearic edits for your listening and dancing pleasure. Fans of DJ Harvey’s Boiler Room set will immediately recognise the Lindbaek edit of Gilla’s “Help Help” which opens this 12″, and it’s complemented by a tweak of a catchy pop tune on “Hacienda”. On the flip “Nomaden” gets into retro ’80s Balearics much like Fabrizio Mammarella or Lauer. “Isogalsa” is an awesome Swahili jam where tribal drums support mantra like chants. Finally there’s a Kenny G sounding cover of ‘that’ track by Deep Forrest from the early nineties; interesting!
