The latest release from Audaz is not a collection of sneaky re-edits, but rather a delicious chunk of original nu-disco/deep house fusion from Deep & Disco Recordings alumnus Monsoon Season. Featuring the evocative vocals of Evelyn Joyce, the original version of “Time Behind” should appeal to fans of Crazy P, as it explores similar good-time musical territory. The remix package is strong, too, with label boss Alkalino delivering a rolling, Rhodes-heavy deep house interpretation that wraps Joyce’s excellent vocal in winding synth-strings and ear-catching clavinet lines. Elsewhere, the Linntronix Mix is similarly deep but a little more synthesizer-heavy, while Martin Virgin explores jaunty nu-disco and extended breakdowns on his ‘Lite Retouch’.
