French multi-instrumentalist and producer Jean Tonique first pricked our consciousness last year, with his expansive debut EP, You. “Guest”, featuring the slinky vocals of Iris, was one of the standout tracks of that set, offering a fluid, warm and evocative take on nu-disco. Here, the track gets remixed, with a trio of new versions complimenting Tonique’s excellent original. The Beatbangers & Boogie Vice deliver a heavy, UK Garage influenced house revision, while Young Franco goes further into dreamy Balearic house territory. Finally, Tonique provides his own deliciously downtempo “Alternate Vision” that recalls the best work of Sebastien Tellier.
