Having steadily climbed their way up the disco pecking order thanks to some fine original productions and remixes, Drop Out Orchestra return to the re-edit scene in which they first made their name. The Edits is a fine collection that cheekily touches on many musical bases, from the warm Balearica of opener “The Swedish Taboo” and energetic new wave funk of “Dee Dee”, to classic disco, slick electrofunk and even overdubbed versions of well-known pop hits, re-imagining cuts from Bros and Rick Astley. While some my baulk at playing the latter, there’s plenty to get excited about elsewhere, all delivered in their trademark dubby disco style.
