Yam Who? have always worn their disco hearts on the disco sleeves. Here however they’ve gone covert, signing DL Edits to their Midnight Riot label. The results are five shifty edits that get up to all kinds of shizzle when no one’s looking. First we get “Floor Wax” which is irresistible early 80s pop-rap with a little modern umph in the drums dept. Next up is “Bones To Pick” sees a tight, 70s style funk riff cruise underneath a husky hip-hop vocal. “Table Manners” is classic mid 80s linn drum soul and lastly “Shunters” wraps things up with some furious and frenetic Afrobeat mayhem.
