Put simply, this super-soulful VA compilation has a whole lot of funk with just the right serving of nasty to get people moving. The music simply speaks for itself from start to finish; Whether it’s Cromine’s elegant deep-house number, “Look Around”, or the slick selection of synths and delays on display by Spain’s Gimenez in “Coming Around” in the opening two tracks, the album is full of surprises and delights… Tuneon’s ‘Something’, really is something, Jonny Hopkinson (from NastyFunk’s very own Leeds) conducts “Searching” into your soul – almost transcending space and time in the process – and Ordonez & Montalvan’s musically excellent “If You Want Me” is an uplifting joyride.
