Brendon Moeller appeared on the Echocord sub-label back in 2012 with Buzz Factory, so a follow-up release was long overdue. “Bent” is stripped back yet complex, with Moeller en-snaring the listener in a web of steely, mangled rhythms. On “Repeat Rate”, he reverts to the typical Echologist sound; ominous chords roll in like grey thunder clouds as the South Afri-can producer drops bolts of industrial steel masquerading as a techno rhythm. The title track is like a half-way house between these two sounds; again, he rolls out churning, dubby chords, but these play out against a lean, stripped back groove.
