In what’s quickly becoming an annual tradition, L.I.E.S. founder Ron Morelli has curated a two-disc compilation (and 12” sampler) of previously released singles and forthcoming tracks for the holiday season. Using sound recordings from the region of Alberta that was formerly territory of the Athabascan indigenous people, the music is a reflection on the landscape of this region and its people. A Sagittariun keeps his identity under wraps. “I don’t feel the need to have to explain who I am or where I have come from, what my backstory is, etc.,” he once said. “There’s little point to what I am doing if I have to explain what my birth name is… I would rather simply be known as A Sagittariun, the ninth sign.” All we can say for sure is that he’s based in Bristol, and since 2011 has released five cosmic and stylistically open-ended EPs, all of which were well-received here on RA.
