Literally all bases are covered here, starting with the sleazy groove of Duss’s “Remont” and the discordant phrases that come with it. Then, the gears get pulled back for the lazy, percussion-laden “Everygroove” and, out of nowhere, Hollen & Raffaele Rizzi pound things down with an infectious, haunting melody and futuristic synths.

Things get loopy and roll away with Diego Infanzon’s “Hela Come” and Sergio Fernandez whips up some persistent stabs and an angular riff that creeps in and out with style. Croatia’s Unique closes the compilation, skipping along craftily to a shuffling groove while bubbly effects and mangled vocals create a suspenseful vibe.

Since emerging in 2012, the ESHU Records label has helped establish Nijmegen on the electronic music map of the Netherlands, drawing from local artists to deliver techno in various forms whilst occasionally calling on more recognisable names (think Nodge, think Van Abbe, think Echologist) The label’s latest outing continues this tradition, introducing the debut of J&L, aka Tom Liem and ESHU’s co-founder Jocelyn Abell and calling on Abdulla Rashim for remix duties. “Save The Planet” could easily feature on a Prologue release, drawing the listener deep into a realm of sublime, stripped back techno, whilst “Raymana Chant” offers a darker side of the J&L production palette. Rashim’s remix is sandwiched in-between and is actually the Swede’s hybrid revision of both tracks, hence the name “Ramayana Planet”.

Famine Memorial Sculpture by Glenna Goodacre, Philadelphia, PA (at Front & Chestnut Streets near Penns Landing) – This large bronze sculpture (12 feet high by 12 feet wide by 24 feet long) contains about 35 figures. The sculpture consists of the metaphorical journey of emigrants of the Irish famine from their beloved land to a ship that carried them over the great ocean to a new land of promise and survival. Emigrants enter the ship on one side of the sculpture, and on the other side of the sculpure, immigrants leave the ship to begin their new lives in America.
