“10 years is an eon in the world of electronic music, where today’s hit can be old news by tomorrow. So it brings a smile to my face when I still receive messages about Crying Over Pros For No Reason. Your first record is always special, because it’s a snapshot of a moment in time that is free of expectation and outside perceptions. It is arguably the purest and rawest expression of who you are as an artist. This album first came out 10 years ago long before the age of social media. To me, it was just pure vibes and feels. And I’m glad you felt them too. Relive it all over again with five bonus songs written in that era and a beautiful colored double vinyl with all of the songs on the album. Thanks for coming along for the ride.” ~ edIT

From Greek-born composer and sound designer John Valasis aka Poordream, comes his debut LP ‘Ninetynine‘. Recently added to Ninja Tune’s publishing house alongside artists Bonobo, Amon Tobin, and Flying Lotus, Poordream now offers this collection of songs that take the listener on an intense journey, set to explore the contrasts between earthly and urban, fragility and harshness, hope and despair. From ambient, organic and cinematic to experimental sound sculpting with electronic means, Poordream masterfully blends real instruments and field recording with digital textures and atmospheres in order to synthesize a unique mixture of world and contemporary electronic music.

‘Ninetynine‘ reaches into the human consciousness, illuminating undiscovered aspects of mind. The ordinary life of the city and other hidden, mystic secrets meld together between complex beats and stark melodies in a work of art that is unique in its diversity. By combining elements of dreamy, atmospheric IDM, breakbeats and world music, and expertly utilizing the deep singing of cello strings, chopped up and arranged to constitute beatwork, Poordream has constructed a listening experience that is both gritty and ethereal.

After the unprecedented response to his debut album ‘Lights’, Tineidae returns to present his follow-up album ‘Shadows’. Focusing on beat-oriented IDM and tightly-textured ambient sounds, this young Ukrainian producer manages to harness intensity and precision to create an engaging sound motifs that will certainly resonant with the listener.

By fusing expansive ambient atmospheres, harmonic notions, dissonant glitches and broken beats that guide along haunting melodies, ‘Shadows’ creates the impression of a hollow chamber, in which sounds ricochet from tunnel walls. Tineidae shares his vision of a dystopian metropolis – a glimpse at the origins of future life, from millions of merging datastreams. And having awoken from the terrible vision of the dystopia that lies ahead, we’re reminded that the future is not set in stone.
