Greek DJ and producer Sek is back on Lost My Dog with another four track EP, following his January release ‘These Dayz’. His latest ‘Fergasm EP’ showcases what an accomplished music maker Dimitris Kesses truly is – it’s a record that has everything from deep, driving grooves that wear their influences on their sleeves, through to twisted, skittering bubblers. As on previous tracks, the snapping, techno-inspired percussion helps bring energy and additional punch to Sek’s work.

New Xosar 12″ featuring “The Calling” b/w “Rays Of Babylon”, big tip!

As 2013 rumbles on, Xosar is set to return with her third EP for Rush Hour, a sparkling two-tracker cloaked in her usual thick-set rhythms, heady vocal hooks and far-sighted synthesizers. In typical fashion, both “Rays of Babylon” and “The Calling” are blessed with a sense of playfulness and the emotion-rich, rush-inducing electronics that are fast becoming her calling card. “I’m inspired by musicians who can capture a feeling they experience in a particular moment, and let that emotion play itself out in the form of a melody, beat or masterful harmonious composition,” she says.

Both tracks started life as mainstays of Xosar’s acclaimed live sets, which are notably performed using various bits of hardware. “I originally created these tracks while I was living in sunny L.A,” she says. “I think the tracks are an accurate reflection of the fun, upbeat vibes I was immersed in while living there. When recording them, I hoped to transfer some of that happy, carefree desert dance energy onto the crowd.”

Although the tracks were later recreated on a computer (due, in part, to the producers fear of losing her Electribe SX sampler, which contained all the “skeletal patterns”), both “The Calling” and “Rays Of Babylon” are similar to the live version, and include elements created using an array of vintage synthesizers and drum machines. Arguably, the finished tracks – kaleidoscopic blasts of synthesized energy, hovering somewhere between classic techno futurism and addictive analogue house – are the most obviously thrilling club tracks she’s done, and certainly the most ‘positive’.

As with previous Xosar releases on Rush Hour, the 12” version of “The Calling”/”Rays of Babylon” will feature her own bespoke sleeve artwork!

Who would have thought that, when OLIVER KOLETZKI released his ‘Blackout’ EP as SVT001 almost eight years ago, Stil vor Talent would reach the catalogue number 100 With our 100th release, we can look back on lots of fantastic music, music by artists who have become part of a close-knit family of friends. We hear the surprising and unexpected, as well as a signature sound in constant development. We recognize the love given and care taken, by illustrators, graphic designers and everyone involved behind the scenes. Most of all, however, we look back on moments of pure bliss, spent on the dance floor with you, where the music comes into its own and works its magic. Here, on ‘Oliver Koletzki Presents Stil vor Talent 100’, a compilation of 22 exclusive, previously unreleased tracks, we celebrate those who have made the label what it is today, our core group of artists.

Move D is a true legend in deep, house music. We own A LOT of his records. When we found the track ‘Wanna Do’ on the 50th Groove magazine cd full of exclusive tracks, we contacted him to ask if he would be interested in a vinyl release. The track was too good to be only available through that cd. So Move D sent a second – also really great – track along, and the result is what you’re listening to at the moment. The first 300 copies are available on marbled purple vinyl. Get yours.

2. John Tejada-Elsewhere (Original Mix) KOMPAKT264-2013.mp3

Releaseinfo: Last years universally acclaimed full-length The Predicting Machine found musical mastermind and producing demigod JOHN TEJADA in full gearhead mode. Hunched over a plethora of synth modules, the LA-based sound wizard dug deep into the circuits and put together an expertly crafted album driving both lab rats and floor lizards in a glorious frenzy. Now, the puppet master returns with SOMEWHERE, a double headliner 12 relighting the fire and putting the beats where the mouth is. Building on such classic bangers as Mono On Mono, Timebomb and especially Mind Bend (with Justin Maxwell), the A sides title cut SOMEWHERE dispatches a robot sleuth to hunt down the ghost in the machine: Im not really sure, where it comes from, says the voice, but it must be somewhere. However, what started as a simple recon mission quickly evolves into a deliciously pumping affair set for utter dancefloor destruction; fully equipped with razor-sharp percussion and hand-sanded hooklines, this beast of a track certainly knows its way around sweaty dancers. The same premium production values can be found on ELSEWHERE, a slow-burning heartcore stepper hiding its massive bassline in full sight. Acting slighty more restrained than its sibling, the B side draws upon dusky chords and broad strokes of synth washes, but still refuses to take prisoners: a solid footing in booming kicks and sizzling hats allows for a resolute attitude when facing the hungry crowd. Once again, JOHN TEJADA ups the ante, delivering highly nourishing chows for your daily shellacking needs, with a powerful 12 that starts to nestlein your ears the very moment you drop the needle. Be electricity, my friend! Tracklist: 1) Somewhere 2) Elsewhere

1. Sherlock (05:01)

3. Sherlock (Taiki & Nulight remix) (04:58)

5. Sherlock (My Nu Leng remix) (06:03)
6. Sherlock (LKid remix) (05:58)

Originally released spring 2012, Foamo’s monstrously heavy bass chugger “Sherlock” gets the treatment from a variety of talented players. Kry Wolf drop the tempo slightly for a resonant UKG strut, Taiki & Nulight continue the garage vibe with a more uptempo, menacing bass motif, Millions Like Us add some cinematic breakbeats and shivering synth washes to the mix, My Nu Leng take a leaf out of Bassbin Twin’s booty-bass book while LKid calms us down with a very neat, early 90s house version. A great spread and not a duff rub in sight.
