Crossing classic alleys with the Eintakt 28 – another Various Artists compilation offering a warm summerblend of well grown techno/house/dub plants and vegetables. Starting off with Achim Maerz and a harmonic drifter with just that tiny acid touch it needs here. Then Mr. Dub Taylor takes over with a wooden dancefloor spoon cooking up a decent mixture for the massive floor. On the B-side Idealist reduces it to the max with the well known hits and drum bits and so fulfils his past future classic promise once more. The product of this rebirth is mobilee’s next album release, “Eternal Return”. The 12-incher is a new wave of And.Id and, to simplify it, an explanation of how he interprets dance music. Through nine tracks and one bonus number, And.Id generates a whirl pool of emotions for his audience as his first four tracks absorb the mind in an ecstasy of full-force body movement and dancing while a deeper story of his musical roots and influences take the vanguard role in the last five tracks. The album’s production kicked-off with a miniature wooden spinning top on And.Id’s studio desk. The greek meaning, “Svoura”, became the title of the number which unraveled the theme for the next three tracks. Jump to the third track and you may notice the powerful vocals of a globally acclaimed vocalist and house music diva of the 1990s. Listen closer and you’ll recognize her lyrics. “My Love” is a track inspired solely by And.Id’s tour through the U.S. while “They Say I Can’t Fly” is a melancholic and poetic tale of high aspirations and dreams. The message is clear – do your thing. The keyboardist of And.Id and B.A.N.D taps away in the final portion of the album and the bonus track concludes the album with a ripened familiar sound from the High-Five mobilee album. A whole lot of soul went into this album as And.Id explains: “Music for me is about creating emotions — when I make music I try to capture that moment.”

Is It Balearic side label Magic Wand return with another stunning collection of edits careful conjured by four Balearic wizards at the peak of their game. Our first disco mystic is Al Gobi with “Linda”, a souk groove that takes you straight to North Africa where the air is thick with hookah smoke. From the title my first thoughts were a Linda Di Franco connection but your guess is as good as mine, but what I can say for certain is that this echo drenched number is begging to be given a late night airing. On the A2 Last Waltz take us trans-Atlantic to the land of the sun and sea breeze with their AOR swayer “Really”. Having already had sell out releases on Endless Flight, Futureboogie and Tusk, Last Waltz are certainly ones to watch and they prove their credentials here. On the flipside T2mm stick with the west coast vibe extending the Laurel Canyon groove of “Muskrat Love” into a balearock epic. Finally, the peerless Coyote turn out another belter in the form of “Mamy”, a proper sunkissed, acoustic guitar strumming, accented vocal jam in true balearic fashion. Number Seven in the celebrated series comes jam-packed with four fantastic balearic wonders, respectfully extended and amended. Magic? You bet!
