Joedan is one of those British artists who can deliver just about anything in the studio, and his productions have taken him from house to garage, and even a little bit of glitchy d&b. “Pacific Swag” is more representative of the former and, in fact, its bass wobbles make it the perfect garage hybrid for 2015 – bound to get more than a few rewinds and some serious movement on the dancefloor. Boy Martel rewires the original into a broken beat mutant, all semi breaks and subbass, while Mij Mack sticks to the garage, but does so in a kind of offbeat, Mr Oizo method. “Approach Riddim” is the oddball tune, a strange tribal dance to the street Gods, and “No Stopping Us” takes us way back to the early 2000’s, a time when garage and grime were first infusing, and peeps were pressing dubs all over the shop.
