There’s no limits to Joedan’s scope of work, and the Leeds-based producer has been skipping from label to label, dropping bomb after bomb. Boss Mode is his place of residence this week, and he’s come through with five steely-eyed bass whoppers that cause all sorts of confusion and nuttiness. That’s because cuts like “Blatant Murder” manage to fuse so many UK genres into one – this one in particular is a cross between garage and murderous wobblestep – or others such as “Cardboard Box” offer a fresh, cut-throat take on already well-grounded formulas. There’s some fine remixes, too, namely a trio of wallopings by Mind Of A Dragon, Dappa, and Gundam…each one armed with their own interpretations of what ‘bass’ means.
