Xanducero is the solo project of Cesar Corujo, a percussionist born in Uruguay who lives in Buenos Aires since 2008. His project combines electronic sounds with afro influenced latin american folk instruments and rhythms. During 2017 came out his first singles: “Tuluz”, published by Shika Shika (Mexico/Argentina), “Hermanitos” (Hawaii Bonsai Records, Switzerland), and “Selva”, which was part of the Electronica Organica compilation, published by Fertil Discos (Argentina). Fertil is also about to publish Xanducer’s first album. Casa is a pure downtempo creation, combining several analogic percussion elements with acoustic ones, such as the bombo leguero -moving from syncopated 6/8 tempo to slow house, including elements from his native uruguayan murga and candombe, and jungle textures. Sanducero is the way uruguayans call the natives of, Paysandu, where Cesar was born, so Casa is inspired in his hometown and the people living there, but also part of a new generation of producers who mix folklore and digital music. The final organic element of the record is the presence of layers of deeply-processed voices: just as the whole record, you can perceive them as a rembembrance of ancestors and traditions, or the subtle rumor of new times.
