Heralding the release of their ‘Persuasion’ EP, the single, 50-minute track ‘Rein’ renders a blueprint for the new creative frameworks of Brooklyn’s Blondes. It collages 50 minutes of original, acephalic and aleatoric sounds found wandering corralled from a lost weekend of studio tinker, sucking us into a molten roil of modular swell and scree laced with ghostly drum machine patterns and half-cut melodies. If this was performed in a live set dancers would end up doing cartwheels and rolling on the ‘floor. Bodes well for their new EP, then.
