Brighton-based dancefloor destroyer Gregg Ashley returns to action, once again donning the My Cat Snoop alias for a typically ballsy EP on W&O Street Tracks. “Wonky” is an aptly titled excursion; an off-kilter, floor-friendly fusion of awkward, minor key melodies, trippy noises, whizzing effects and thrusting low-end pressure. The original version is accompanied by a rather fine Dub, which boosts the track’s late night/early morning credentials via even heavier bass, spaced out electronics and raw, acid-flecked motifs. The EP also contains a solid bonus cut entitled “Robots”, where ricocheting percussion hits and metallic noises wrap themselves around a lolloping, elastic tech-house rhythm.
