Danny Krivits’ re-edit releases are a little more sporadic these days, but remain essential purchases for those who enjoy their dance music soulful, on-point and floor-friendly. This latest two-track missive is, happily, another strong release. Krivit provides a tasteful, anthem-like rework of Whitney Houston’s LA and Babyface-produced 1990 cut “I’m Your Baby Tonight” on the A, looping the chorus and giving the tactile groove a little more room to breathe. On the flip, Choclette’s 1985 proto-house classic “It’s That East Street Beat” gets a tweak, with Krivit expertly combining bits from both the Club and Dub versions in one dubby, delay-laden rework.
