Theo Keating started releasing music as Fake Blood in 2007—previously he was best known for his work as one half of The Black Ghosts alongside Simon Lord. Fabriclive 69 will arrive around six months on from the release of Cells, his debut album as Fake Blood. “I went for combinations and blends that seemed a little odd on paper, but to me worked really well sonically—to keep it surprising rather than too linear or working towards some kind of crescendo,” says Keating of the mix. “It’s more about regular moments throughout than building to the last tune.”The 30-track selection includes newer material from Paul Woolford’s Special Request project, Brodinski, Drums Of Death and French Fries alongside older cuts, such as Nightmares On Wax’s “Aftermath” and “Jam The Mace” by House Syndicate, and a sprinkling of Keating’s own material. The launch party for the mix will be held at fabric on Friday, May 10th, with Fake Blood billed to play alongside Paul Woolford, Boy 8 Bit, Attaque & Le Breton
