Bremen-based Frenchman KS French appears to be trying to set a new world record for the highest number of re-edit EPs released in the shortest space of time, this being his fourth or fifth in as many weeks. As usual, he adds a little subtle house flavour to a mix of well-known classics (opener “Brothers” houses up “Brothers On The Slide”, while “Brown SoulTrip” extends a dreamy Diana Ross slow jam) and slightly more obscure cuts. By and large, it’s the latter that impress most, with the loopy, string-laden classic soul rework “We Done” and filter-happy head-nodder “Take Me Back” (seemingly a rework of a Jacksons track) being our picks.
