Since the turn of the New Year, not a week has gone by without a new KS French release. Here, he joins forces with fellow Paris-based disco/electrofunk/house fusionist Mastercue to deliver four more re-edits with a French Touch twist. There are few surprises – by now, we should all be familiar with his heavily compressed, filter-sporting formula – but all four tracks should cause a commotion on the dancefloor. Both of French’s contributions – a Tiger & Woods-ish take on Evelyn Champagne King classic “I’m In Love” (“Bout You On My Mind”), and the pleasingly loose and bumpy but still heavy soul rub “My House” – ripple with party-friendly funk. As for Mastercue, his thickset ’80s soul jam rework “Your Chance” is probably the EP’s most striking moment.
