“Affinity” is the first new Motion Sickness of Time Travel material recorded since the birth of our son. Book-ended by a prologue and epilogue, the album is structured in such a way as to introduce three “character studies”, followed by an extended interlude and finally, at the core, a revisitation and intermingling of the three characters. Featuring some of Rachel’s darkest and most hard-edged work to date, especially on tracks like New Moon and Ternion, “Affinity” is a welcome return and a slight departure from past offerings.
